What should I see on the EN pin on the A4988 stepper driver

I am trying to use the A4988 stepper drivers on a GRBL board and not having any luck. In trying to rull out./in possible causes, someone suggested checking the voltage on the EN pin. I did and found 3.84v on all three stepper drivers. I don’t know what to expect. I was thinking that the EN pin should be grounded to enable the board. Is that incorrect?

Hello,

You are correct; the EN pin should be pulled low to enable the A4988 driver. You can see more about this in the datasheet available under the “Resources” tab of the A4988 product page.

Hmmmm. I did look at the data sheet, but I sometimes can’t see what’s right in front of me.

Thank you for confirming that. Now I just need to find out how to bring it low on the Grbl or in bCNC.

Thanks again.
Charlie.
