I just purchased some A4988 stepper motor shields and Nema 11 stepper both from this site and when i follow the diagram, the stepper and the driver overheat. I have connected 9V to the driver and power it with the arduino 5v pin. When attempting to set my VREF to.5 like i need, it only will go as high as .2. Can someone help?
How did you verify your driver is overheating? I would not expect it to be overheating with the current limit set that low.
What are you using for your 9V power source, and how is everything connected? Can you post pictures of your setup that show all of your connections? Also, can you post a link to the stepper motor you are using?
