m actually using arduino uno r3 and vnh5019 motor shield.when i connect the shield with arduino i get a blue led on my motor shield but not the red one as i have seen in the images provided at ur site.
even the code which u hav provided gets upload on the arduino board…bt the motors are not moving.do i need to hav other power supply rather than usb to make my motors move…??
please help!!!

I am sorry you are having trouble getting that shield to work. The red and green LEDs indicate direction of rotation for each motor channel, and you will need to supply motor power to VIN to get them to light. Please see the connection diagrams in the user’s guide for more information:
