Stepper motor with MP6500 vibration at startup

Hello,
I am using MP6500GF to drive a NEMA 17 bipolar stepper motor. When I turn on the driver (by pulling nSLEEP pin high), I hear a loud vibration from the motor. This happens before I start sending pulses to STEP pin. How can I get rid of that vibration?

Thank you in advance.

Hello

Is the vibrating only a noise you can here, or is there also some visible vibration of the stepper motor and its output shaft? A video of the stepper motor’s behavior would be helpful. The forum does not allow users to post very large videos, but it does work well with videos linked from other sites (like YouTube or Vimeo).

Also, you using our MP6500 carrier with potentiometer current control, or are you using the MP6500 carrier with digital current control? Please post some close-up pictures of both sides of your board.

I had this issue and it was caused by not connecting the microcontroller (raspi in my case, connected to the ground on GPIO) to the second ground on the mp6500.
