Roboclaw 5a troubleshooting with encoders

I have roboclaw 15a and 5a motor controllers.
15a is working good with encoders and signed speed in packet serial.
When i switch to 5a with same pin config & defaults and send signed speed, motor turns very slowly and i cannot get the speed i send by command. If i don’t give signed speed it turns normal. I set the pid and qpps manually but the outcome didn’t change.
Is there a problem with the 5a controller?


I am sorry you are having trouble getting one of your RoboClaws to work. If you got them from us, how recently did you get both RoboClaws? Can you check which firmware version you have on both RoboClaws with the “Read Firmware Version” command? Also, what is the stall current of the motor you are using?
