Question on DC motor part #2991

Hi,

Quick questions on the DC motor, part #2991.

  • Is there a difference between the - pads for the capacitor, i.e. the - on the opposite side of the board from + vs. the one adjacent on the same side?
  • Any issues using a 1000uF cap here? It mentions several hundred uF in the documentation, but we currently have a ton of 1kuF caps on hand. Just curious.

Thank you!

Hello,

You can connect a capacitor to either of those connection points as long as you maintain the correct polarity for the capacitor you are using. Typically, the connections closest together are used for radial capacitors and the ones farther apart are used for axial capacitors.

Your 1000uF capacitor should be fine.
