I’m trying to use a Tic T825 to drive motor of a T8-Z150 linear slide (https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806258552913.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt). Wiring: A1-black, A2-green, B1-blue, B2-red. Using Tic Control Center (on windows) with settings shown below, I hear a soft grinding/churning sound when I set the target, but the slider does not move. When I decouple the screw from the stepper motor, the rotor turns. I have tried multiple Tic T825’s. I am using a 12V, 5A AC/DC adapter. Can someone help me make sense of this?

Hello.
It looks like you have the current limit set to the default value of 192mA, which might not be giving your stepper motor enough power to move the leadscrew. Since your stepper motor is rated for 1.5A per phase, you will probably want to set it equal to or slightly less than that. I recommend following the instructions in the “Configuring and testing the stepper motor” section of the Tic user’s guide, which covers setting the current limit, testing the motor, checking the heat, and more.
