Powering the A4988 Stepper Motor Driver

Hello

A4988 pin VMOT and GND are which type power supply connect i using nema17 motor?

Hello,

Since the maximum current per phase rating of our A4988 carrier is 1 A per phase without additional cooling, you could probably use a power supply like this. I would need to know more information about your stepper motor to give a more specific recommendation.

Please note, you should set your current limit to the lower current per phase rating between your A4988 carrier and the stepper motor you are using. You can see more about setting the current limit for the A4988 stepper motor driver carrier in the “Current limiting” section of the A4988 product page.

Hello,

we are use to Nema17(4.2kgcm)stepper motor rated voltage 2.8V and rated current 1.4A and another motor are (0.65kgcm) rated voltage are 3.3V and phase current are 0.6A the both are interface to A4988 soi will use this condition are 12V dc Adaptor?

When using current limiting stepper motor drivers like the A4988 you can use voltages higher than what the stepper motor is rated for. You can find more details about this in the first FAQ under the “FAQs tab” on the A4988 product page.

For using those stepper motors with the A4988 carrier, you should set the current limit to 1A for the motor rated at 1.4A, and 0.6A for the other.
