Powering an ARDUINO MEGA with VNH5019

Hi,

I would like to know how do I enable the port VOUT to provide 5V in order to power the Arduino?

Even when the driver is ON, I get 0V in this port.

Is there a jumper or something that enables it?

Thanks,
Max

Hello, Max.

It sounds like you are referring to our Pololu Dual VNH5019 Motor Driver Shield for Arduino. Can you clarify what pin on the shield you are trying to measure 5V from? What are you using for a power supply, and what are its voltage and current ratings? Can you post some pictures of both sides of your VNH5019 shield?

There is a jumper on the shield that can be used to power the Arduino from the shield’s supply, but it is used to provide the reverse protected input voltage to Vin on the Arduino, not 5V. You can see more about using that jumper under the “Arduino power jumper” heading in the “Assembly for Use as an Arduino Shieldhttps://www.pololu.com/docs/0J49/3.b” section of the Pololu Dual VNH5019 Motor Driver Shield User’s Guide.
