Pololu Dual VNH5019 Motor Driver Shield for Arduino

Hi.
I have the Pololu Dual VNH5019 Motor Driver Shield for Arduino used as a shield, and I’ve seen that I need a logic power (2’5V to 5V). My battery is 11v and its used to power the Arduino base as well.
Need I an extra battery for the logic power?

Thanks

Hello,

The VNH5019 shield gets its logic voltage from the Arduino, so it does not need an external logic power supply. The 11V supply should be sufficient for your application. I suspect that you were looking at the diagram in the “Board Connections” section of the user’s guide. Please note that this section is inside the “Using as a General-Purpose Motor Driver” section, so it only applies when you are not using the board as a shield.
