Hello,

I have focusing device for a telescope. It is just a stepper motor, a controller board and a USB connector.

The controller board burned out and replacement are not available.

I wanted to replace the board with a pololu Multi-Interface Stepper Motor Controller Pololu - Tic T500 USB Multi-Interface Stepper Motor Controller…

However, I would need to change the FW running on the controller so that it “simulates” the interface used by the older board. Is this possible with any of the pololu boards?

Hello.

The Tic controllers are not open source and we do not support user-created firmware.

You might consider making your own system using a programable controller and stepper motor driver.

I was trying to find a one board solution to fit in the existing system. A 2 board system being much less attractive.
