What connector is on the encoder board for the 25D gear motors? From the pictures, I think it might be a JST PH series 6-pin receptacle. I’d like to make my own custom cable.

The connector on the 25D encoder board is not removable; the cable is soldered to the board through the connector. It is not practical to replace that connector, since you would need to remove the encoder board to do so, and that would require removing the encoder disc (which is press-fit on and would be very difficult to remove without damaging it, let alone re-install it). Instead, I would recommend either making an adapter cable that connects to the DuPont-style connector already on the cable or cut that connector off and splice on your own.
