Connecting a four-wire Stepper Motor

Hi All,

I have been thinking how I would connect my stepper motor to the black box that contains all the Arduino and Pololu stuff.

I was splicing a USB cable and it suddenly dawned on me that I can use a telephone jack. So if I build a male telephone end at the end of the stepper motor wires, is there a female version of it that can be placed on a Breadboard and ultimately on a PCB?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Farzad,

There is a great stepper motor book by David Benson titled “Easy Step’n” which might help. Here is the web site for this book:

Hi. Farzad.

There are almost certainly female telephone jack connectors that are meant to be integrated in to PCB designs available, and you might be able to get some breakout boards that allow you to easily use those connectors with a breadboard, but we don’t have any recommendations on where to find them. However, if all you want is to have a plug that allows you to connect all four wires from your stepper motor at once, you could just use connectors like our male and female headers.

Thanks. I will look into that book.
