Caps across 1446 terminals

Is there any reason why I WOULDN’T want to put some small caps across the terminals of this motor or from each teminal of the motor to the case to absoborb line noise? It has the encoder on it.

Hi, Jim.

The encoder board already has a 0.1 uF cap between the two terminals the motor. It won’t hurt anything to add your own caps from each terminal to the motor can, but it might not be necessary (it really depends on how sensitive of your system is to noise).

Thanks. I poked around to see if I could see a schematic for the encoder and didn’t see anything. Is there one that I missed?
