Hi, I recently carelessly short circuited the encoder on the motor, my question is it reverse polarity protected. I tested it alone and the reading seems right but when paired with another motor, it seems to offer wrong readings but always off by a constant number. Thank you for your help.

The encoder does not have reverse voltage protection. It sounds like the encoder might be fine, if you are still getting a signal from it. You might check the code to see if something there is causing the discrepancy or see if you can compensate for the discrepancy in the code. If you post samples of the output that you are getting from the encoder, we might be able to offer more advice on the issue.
