18v15 Motor Controller - length motor wires

Hi all,

I have been able to succesfully test and program my 18v15 motor controller in the test setup (serial connection to 18v15 to drive a linear actuator). However, in my final setup the length between the controller and the linear actuator will be roughly 2m (or 6.5 feet). Do I need to take any special precaution when doing this setup to protect the controller? Just want to make sure before moving to the final installation.

Hello, J.

You should not have to take any special precautions (generally speaking, if you need long wires in your system, you want them between the motor controller and the motor, not between the motor controller and the power supply). Please note, there will be some loss in voltage across the wires.
