As I was building my Zumo 2040 robot, I started by looking at the kit content description to make sure that I received all of the required parts and initially I thought I was missing some screws but as I looked at it more, I discovered that it was just a mistake in the User’s Guide.
Close to the beginning of Section 1.1 there is a text list of parts that indicates that the Chassis Kit should include six 1/4″ #2-56 screws and nuts but mine only included four of these screws.
A little further down in the same section, there are drawings showing the parts and their count and that shows a count of four for the same 1/4" #2-56 screws.
It looks like the earlier part count in the text list should be updated from six to four for these screws.
Ignoring this small issue, I found the build instructions to be clear and I had no other issues with the build. It went quite smoothly.
I was wondering why the samples on the bot weren’t working the way I expected from my earlier read through of the code (as I was waiting for my order to arrive). It turns out that the mainboard didn’t ship with the latest MicroPython interpreter and samples. A quick .uf2 update and rsync fixed that though ![]()
