Wild Thumper: Motor bearings?

The Wild Thumper chassis look interesting, although I have two questions:

  1. It looks like the wheels don’t pivot. This means it cannot steer without slipping the wheels, “tank” style. Is this correct?

  2. It looks like the wheels mount directly to the motor chassis. This will put sideways strain on the motor bearings. Generally, this is not usually recommended. Is there some solution to this, or are the motors designed for this?

Hello.

You are correct, the Wild Thumper uses “tank steering”, also known as differential drive. Also, we do not have specifications for sideways strain, but we have not heard of that kind of a failure.
