What is Micro Metal Gearmotor HP optimal current

Hi

I bought this little beauty, 298:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HP or item #994 but only min and max are given, there is no spec sheet.

Question is, if stall current is 1,600 mA @ 6V, what is optimum running current / torques. Should it be around 50% or higher?

Hello.

There are all kinds of optimums, plus you don’t generally get to set the current. We don’t have ratings for the life of these motors, but generally speaking, the more load you put on them (making the current go up), the harder it will be on the motor, decreasing the life of the unit. Continuous operation at more than 50% of the stall current would make me nervous.
