Voltage over A4988 stepper driver too low

Hi there,
I’m building a hypercube and I’m using an Arduino 2560 clone with RAMPS v1.4 combined with A4988 stepper drivers. As recommended in Tech2C’s videos I set the voltage over the stepper drivers to 0.6V. Everything worked fine for a while, but then my power supply failed (kinda started smoking). I replaced the power supply and everything was fine again. But after a while I noticed that the voltage over the stepper drivers dropped to 0.35V.
This is only the case when plugged in with the power supply. When I connect my laptop, the problem is gone.
The voltage over the power supply is correct. I measure 12V. I use a S-360-12 supply.
Do you guys have any idea what the problem could be?
Thanks anyway!

Hello.

When you say “voltage over the stepper drivers,” do you mean you set VREF to 0.6V? If not, can you clarify what you meant? Can you also send pictures that clearly show your current setup and connections?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply!
Meanwhile I found the problem (I should’ve put it on the topic, sorry). It was a broken voltage regulator on my arduino.
