USB AVR Programmer 2.1 VCC tolerance when disabled

Hi -

I’m programming an Arduino derivative (Moteino) that may have 12V on the VCC pin of the FTDI interface when powered.

When used as a USB-TTL device, can the programmer tolerate higher voltages on the VCC pin when the regulator is disabled, or is that likely to damage the programmer?

Thanks!

Hello.

No; the Pololu USB AVR Programmer v2.1 can not tolerate voltages much higher than 5 V.
