I designed a custom PCB using the A4988 stepper driver, but I’m experiencing some issues with motor noise, vibrations, and occasional missed steps. The motor runs, but it’s not as smooth as I expected. I’ve checked my current limits and microstepping settings, but the issue persists.
I’m wondering if my PCB layout is contributing to the problem. I tried to follow Pololu’s carrier board design but had to make some modifications. Could poor grounding or trace routing be causing interference? Would adding extra capacitors or adjusting the ground plane help stabilize things?
