can the ir beacon be used for algorithms like triangulation?

Unfortunately, the beacons cannot directly be used for triangulation since they only work in pairs. It would be possible to remove the emitters on two beacons and have them both detect a third one, but even then, you would probably have problems with getting adequate resolution.
Also, the beacons are out of stock because many of the parts on it are now obsolete. We will be working on a new version, which we hope will be available later this year.
One of the parts we do not have is the IR emitters, which you might not even need for you application, so please contact us if you are interested in obtaining a partial kit for the old beacon.
