Will these wheels also fit on a 4 mm D-shaped axel? Who can explain how these wheels are secured to a shaft?
I am planning to use these wheels with a maxon gearmotor which can deliver a lot of torque so I am wondering if these wheels are solid enough…

The wheels should fit on the axle, but making them turn might be harder. You can see the intended mounting system when you look at a picture of one of the corresponding gearboxes:
The output shaft has a little pin through it, and the end of the shaft is threaded so that the wheel can be screwed down against that cross pin.
“Solid enough” is hard to judge. I think it’s reasonably strong and that the bigger problem will be securing the hub to your output shaft.
