Stencil pricing question

When I first started using Pololu for SMT stencils, your pricing was very reasonable at $25 for an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet for $25. This allowed a few small stencils to be made from one sheet and was very cost-effective. I even recommended you in my SMT soldering Instructable (http://www.instructables.com/id/Extreme_Surface_Mount_Soldering/). I considered Pololu as an enabler for the hobbyist doing SMT work. Your new pricing is very disappointing. The stencil would cost significantly more than the circuit board! I can no longer recommend you at all.

We have not changed our prices, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about. By the way, the price was never based on the sheet size. The pricing has always been based on the area in which there are apertures to cut, and we just cut the outside sheet by hand to provide at least 2 inches of border past the apertures on all sides.
