I have a problem saying my chip is not the atMega 168. I think it is a firmware issue is there any way i can reload the firmware for the B-168 so it is like it was the day I got it.

The Baby Orangutan B-168 doesn’t have “firmware” as such, but it is possible to change fuse settings which would interfere with the programmer’s communication with the microcontroller and cause the signature bytes to be misread.
Have you been able to program your Baby Orangutan before, or are you trying for the first time? What programmer and software are you using? Can you tell what the signature bytes are being read as? Is it possible that you changed any of the fuse settings?

Problem solved. It ended up being a power supply issue.
