I am building a home arcade game cabinet with a rotating LCD display, to play both horizontal and vertical format classic arcade games.
I used a metal gearmotor and Simple motor controller to actuate. The Arcade frontend software has a plugin that triggers .bat files to rotate the monitor when called for.
I realize this is a pretty pedestrian usage of the components compared to robots and RC, but it shows another application. Others in the Arcade hobby are doing similar things with similar setups and also with stepper motors.
