If you remove the built in switch from the 2810, would this leave the unit in off mode for that switch? I’ll be hooking up another switch using the other pins on it to make a safe shutdown for the raspberry pi and the instructions I have are to have the switch in the off position, and I’d rather remove it for space constraints. (Gameboy Pocket)

I don’t see any problem removing that switch; your other switch will just take over control for whatever mode the switch is in. The switch should be off when powered up by default.
