Is the enable on Pololu part 2482 enable hi or low. Hi I suspect. Is the enable 12v tolerate, or does it need a 5v signal?

From looking at the schematic, it definitely looks like the EN pin will turn the relay on when it is high. There is a pull-down on the EN pin to make sure that it doesn’t turn on when the EN pin isn’t connected.

The product page has this to say about the voltage on the EN pin.

The control signal is fed directly to a BSS138 N-channel MOSFET, which in turn actuates the relay coil when the control voltage exceeds approximately 2.5 V, up to a maximum of 20 V (see BSS138 datasheet (92k pdf) for details).
