Reflectance sensor not working

Hi,
I wonder why my zumo reflectance sensor array doesn’t work. It can capture values using the the border detect code from here:
github.com/pololu/zumo-shield-a … s/examples

But it wont emit lights, so it can’t capture the reflected value. I wonder is the LED on zumo reflectance sensor is really that sensitive?

Hello,

It sounds like your sensor array is working properly. Please note that the LEDs on the reflectance sensor emit infrared (IR) light, which is not visible to the human eye. You can check to see if the LEDs are emitting light by viewing them from a digital or cell phone camera while they are powered. Please note that some cameras have an IR filter strong enough to block out this light, but most should work fine.
