Raspberry Pi GPIO to drive a relay

I’ve got a 12vdc 500mA relay I’d like to power with the 3.3v GPIO on a raspberry pi. Can anybody suggest a product to do this with? It’s for firing a marking/engraving pin, so it needs to actuate fairly quickly.

I assume trying to enable/disable the ‘enable’ pin of a D36V28F12 would be a bad idea?

Thanks in advance for any advise!

Hi.

You could potentially enable and disable a regulator to control a relay, but you will get better results if you use a MOSFET to turn it on and off like we do on our 12V relay carriers.
