Range Sensor?

I am hoping to user the m3pi robot and 3 range sensors (pointing front,left and right) to solve a micro mouse maze.

Do you think this range sensor would be appropriate?


Also, how would I attach them to the m3pi, would they have to be permanently soldered?

and how would I initiate them in the program, what pins etc?

10 cm is pretty close (about 4 inches) but might work if the 3pi fits well in the maze.

A bigger problem will probably be to make the robot run straight in the maze. If it nudges any wall, it might get caught and turn that way, and be entirely out of alignment.
