I am sorry you are having problems with our QTR libraries. Are you using one of our Orangutans? If not, which AVR chip are you using? Also, can you post a link to the library you are trying to use?
By the way, these sensors do not output a digital signal; you can find more information about the output signal on the QTR-1RC product page.
