I have problem with Pololu HP Micro Metal Gearmotor 50:1.

I used it in my minisumo. Yesterday i was preparing to the competiton. After about 30 min of testing different programs one of this motors stopped. :frowning: It didn’t respond at pwm signal from h-bridge. I opened it and i saw that magnets inside punctured. I bought this morots about 6 months ago, but i start using it 2 weeks ago.

How it could happend? Could you explain how can I prevent that accidents?

Hello.

Those motors have been extensively tested in the Zumo and are often used in sumo competitions, and we have not had reports of people having this issue with those motors. Could you post pictures that show the damage to the motor?

I suspect that some kind of impact on the motor might have damaged the magnet. How was the motor configured in your setup? How were you using the motors in your tests?
