Is it possible to power the 3pi robot using usb via the Pololu USB AVR Programmer?

The 3pi must be powered using 4 AAA batteries while being programmed via the AVR Programmer. Unfortunately the 3pi is not designed to be powered by USB, nor is the AVR Programmer capable of delivering power to the target device; attempting to do so may result in permanently damaging your unit.
