Pololu IR Beacon as just a reciever?

Hey All,
I am curious if it is possible to use the IR beacon as only a reciever, allowing it to react to IR led’s alone (instead of another IR Beacon).

I quickly attempted to see if one beacon would react to a basic IR Led circuit but I could not get a reacton.

Thoughts?

Hello,

Yes, it is possible to use the Pololu IR Beacon as just a receiver. However, the beacon will only work with IR signals that are modulated at a frequency of 56 kHz.
