Pololu Avr Programmer 2.1 not begin detected!

Hey guys, I just recently bought the USB AVR PROGRAMMER 2.1 from you guys and after I downloaded all of the drivers and everything, when I connect it to my laptop/desktop, it doesn’t even pop up that a usb device connected, nor is it in device manager? could someone please help me though this!

There is only a little green light on it that blinks.

Actually I tried using a different cord and it worked. The cords I was using were for charging things, I guess this one was different.
