Orangutan & JTAG

Support A-Star and Orangutan

I would like to investigate using the Orangutan with JTAG. All I see is the ISP connection, so I would imagine that a custom JTAG setup would be necessary.

I would like to ensure that merely using the proper leads should work fine, as some boards put those pins on other components that cause problems.

Hello,

We are not aware of the mega8 having JTAG support. The schematic on the Orangutan page shows all of the connections, so you can see what is on the lines you need. Or, if you let us know what lines you need, we can get back to you with a list of what is connected to those lines.

I double-checked the JTAG specs and you are correct that the mega8 has no JTAG pins. I have been playing with the AVR Butterfly and it has JTAG, so I was hoping that the Orangutan would have it.
