We are excited to introduce the Pololu A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Carrier, Black Edition, a drop-in replacement for the original A4988 carrier with approximately 20% better performance! The new board has four layers (compared to two for the original), which allows it to deliver higher currents without overheating. Except for thermal characteristics, the Black Edition and the original A4988 carrier are interchangeable, so the Black Edition offers an easy way to add higher performance to a project that already uses our A4988 carrier.
