Negative voltage on servo power?

I was overeager to test my new FS5115M-FB and accidentally wired it up to receive a negative voltage, will that have fried anything? It’s not working and I’m wondering if I should give up the chase now.

Thanks!
Jacob

Hello, Jacob.

Unfortunately, it is very possible to damage servos by connecting power backwards like that. If you have a servo you know still works, you might consider verifying your setup works correctly with that servo. If it does, then the FS5115M-FB was likely damaged.

Thanks Brandon, your advice was good. Fortunately for me I was able to narrow the problem down to software after going back to square one with some other, cheaper servos I had on hand. So, in my particular situation the short lived mistake doesn’t seem to have had any long term consequences.
