The Orangutan X2 only has two mounting holes. When I mount it using machine screws and nylon spacers, it’s not very secure. That’s because one side (the one without the holes) is cantilevered and hangs down in a lopsided way. I’m used to PC104 boards with mounting holes on all four corners. Why isn’t the Oranguntan X2 like this? Am I missing something?
The two screws holding the two boards together can be used for mounting purposes, giving you four total. The included 1/4" standoff is threaded all the way through for 4-40 screws, so you just need some longer screws to make them extend into whatever you’re mounting to.
The mounting holes are set up that way to keep the overall unit as small as possible.
