Mini Pushbutton Power Switch doesn't work at higher voltages

Hi,

Here’s my setup.

When I use 3 x 1.5V AA batteries to create 4.5Volts, the board works beautifully. When I substitute a car battery, it turns on the board, but it won’t turn it off. The onboard switch turns it on and off, and a larger external momentary switch turns it on and off, but not my intended switch.

I can’t use any old switch because of size constraints.

What’s going on? How can I fix this?

Thanks

Hello.

It would be hard for anyone to help you unless you provide more information about your switch that is not working. If your external switch is connected to any other circuitry besides the A & B pins on the mini pushbutton power switch, could you remove those connections and let us know how the switch behaves?

Thanks, just wanted to follow up.

It turned out to be a crappy switch that doesn’t operate well at over 6V.
