Mini Maestro: Please explain speed and acceleration

what do the speed and acceleration paramaters do to the PWM signal to get slower speeds?

I was thinking of hacking a servo for continuous rotation - will changing the speed and acceleration values enable me to get speed control?

The speed and acceleration features vary the output pulse width in an open-loop way, so they only mean something if the servo is capable of actually executing the desired motion. It’s difficult to know how exactly a servo responds to being modified for continuous rotation, but generally speaking, the speed parameter would then control acceleration, and the acceleration parameter would control the third derivative of position (the jerk).
