I’m looking at the magnetic encoder kit found here: https://www.pololu.com/product/1523
It’s exactly what I’m looking for but my motor has a 3.1 mm shaft diameter and the largest available disk has a 2 mm hole. So I wonder if the disks are made of plastic or some other easily drillable material so I can increase the hole diameter myself?

I tried drilling one of the discs here and was able to expand a hole meant for a 1mm shaft to a hole that would press fit onto a 2mm shaft. It should also be possible to expand to a larger hole with the right drill bits. If you try this, we would be interested in hearing how it works out.
