Locking Screws Loosening & New Omni-Wheels

Two brief questions:

  1. Over time, the two little locking screws in this hub (https://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1083) seem to be slowly loosening from the D-shaft from this gearmotor (https://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1444) with increased usage. Is there another shaft/hub combination that would be more secure?

  2. I’ve just acquired these new wheels (http://www.andymark.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=am%2D0048), plastic omni-wheels, to be exact. I’d like to hub them to the same gearmotor (https://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/1444), but the bolt pattern is larger = 1.875" diameter bolt circle. Does Pololu sell a hub that can fit it?

Hello.

Unfortunately, that’s the only hub we have for that shaft size. For the set screw problem, you might try some threadlock. Make sure you don’t get the threadlock on any plastic since it might damage the plastic.

Do you have gearmotors available with shafts larger than 6mm? I think I’ll need a bigger shaft/gearmotor to attach to an 8" diameter wheel.
