Linear actuator feedback question

I’m interested in the linear actuator https://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/2309 with feedback, but the data sheets don’t seem to have any details on how the potentiometer is supposed to work. What is the total resistance and how does the potentiometer wiper position correspond to the various extensions available for this actuator? The application that I have in mind will probably require the 10" version.

Thanks, Jim

Hi, Jim.

The specifications for feedback pot are available in the PDF on the resources page called “Load specifications for 12V linear actuators.” The pot is a 10k pot, and the resistance at the stops varies by model (the 10" one goes from 0.3 to 9.3 kOhms). I believe that the resistance goes roughly linearly with the stroke but that isn’t specified.
