I often use those type motor modules for arduino projects, but now I want to use one directly from a FlySky Receiver. Is that different or is PWM PWM? Thanks!

The simple carrier boards for our DRV8835 and other similar drivers require duty-cycle based PWM signals; while RC servo signals are a specialized type of PWM signal, they will not work correctly as inputs for those drivers.
We do have a number of brushed DC motor controllers that can be configured to accept hobby RC signals that you might consider. They are the ones in the comparison table with a green check for “RC control”.
