I want to build a simple IR controller… Just pump out one code. I need to be able to read the info from a prebuilt remote control and program that code into mine.
Does anyone have any suggestions of sites or parts? I want it to be small and easy to hide… I plan on having fun

Sounds like you’re trying to make some kind of “TV-B-Gone” type device. Adafruit has TV-B-Gone kits that might be a useful starting point. Don’t be too much of an asshole while having fun!
