Installing A-Star-Windows driver failed

Driver install fails. Selected .inf file, right click, select install.

Fail message says: “A certificate chain processed but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider”

This is on a surface pro x running windows 11.

Any idea what’s going on here?

Thanks!

Hello.

The Surface Pro X is an ARM-based Windows machine, and Windows drivers will generally not work on ARM-based machines unless they were designed to do so (which the drivers for our products were not). If you are interested, this FAQ from Microsoft has more information.

However, you should still be able to use the A-Star using Windows 11 without installing the drivers. There is guidance about that in the “Installing Windows drivers” section of the A-Star 32U4 user’s guide under the “COM port details” header.
