Install D24V5F2

I just acquired a D24V5F2 to step down the voltage for my stepper motor of 2.8 voltage. My question is what is the function of the SHDN pin and how would it be used? The other 3 pins speak for themselves.
Thanks

Hello.

The SHDN pin can be driven low to turn off the output and put the board into a low-power state. There is a pull-up resistor between the SHDN pin and VIN, so if you want to leave the board permanently enabled, the SHDN pin can be left disconnected. You can learn more about the SHDN pin under the “Using the regulator” section on the regulator’s product page.

Out of curiosity, what is the reason you want to step down the voltage for your stepper motor? Stepper motors are often used above their rated voltage with current limiting drivers. The first FAQ on our stepper motor driver carrier pages gives more detailed information on why that is okay.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
